country roads and client routes

Sometimes I think people in Dublin or Cork don't understand how complicated logistics get when you're working outside the main cities. I'm in Sligo, which means every booking requires serious planning. It's not like I can just hop on a bus or grab a taxi somewhere.

My typical setup involves knowing exactly which back roads don't have speed cameras, which petrol stations have clean bathrooms for getting ready, and which rural hotels won't ask too many questions. Rural Ireland isn't anonymous like urban spaces. One wrong move and suddenly everyone knows your business.

Last week I had a client coming from Galway who wanted to meet halfway. We ended up at this tiny B&B near Ballymote that I've used before. Cash only, no questions, owner doesn't give a toss as long as you're quiet and pay in full. These are the practical details that matter when you're working in a small community.

Travel is my biggest expense and biggest risk. Fuel, accommodation, looking presentable. You can't just wing it out here. Every journey needs a plan.
